Responsibilities/Duties

The Material Handler is responsible for staging, receiving, monitor minimum inventory levels, assist in ordering materials and housekeeping.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stage batches for 1st and 2nd shift.

• Receive and put in assigned location all raw materials and packaging materials.

• Keeping the raw materials and packaging materials area neat, clean and organized.

• Monitor minimum inventory levels of all raw materials and packaging material.

• Assist in ordering raw materials and packaging materials from vendors.

• Other duties may be assigned in the future, which could include production assistance

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

• Be able to communicate clearly with all employees in the department

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., position requires bending, standing pulling, reaching, sitting and working from ladders.

• Good communication skills, bi-lingual is a plus, must be able to read and write English

• Some computer skills

• Basic math skills

• Forklift license

• Organizational skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• One-year related experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. A manufacturing area with limited heat or air conditioning. Conditions may be cold or

extremely hot and humid.

2. Exposure to the hazards of moving equipment, high voltage, and moving mechanical

parts that require use of Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE’s) including steel

toed shoes, and safety goggles.
